Tis’ the season for all things red and white! This Candy Cane flower vase makes for the perfect centerpiece, is super easy to make and is sure to impress anybody who sees it! I’m impressed every time I pass mine 😉
I already had the vase from a bouquet of flowers gifted to me, reused the ribbon from another project and was happy to use my trusty hot glue gun for yet another project. 5 boxes of candy canes and a bouquet of red carnations had me shelling out a whopping $11 for this project… and that, I can definitely handle!
- Vase (I used this 6″ circular one I had from a floral delivery)
- Candy Canes (these are 98 cents a box at walmart, and I used about 5 boxes)
- Flowers (I used red carnations, but any variety/color will work!)
- Ribbon (1 1/2- 2″ red or white)
- Hot Glue Gun
How to make Candy Cane Vase
Put a dab of hot glue gun on the vase.
Line up the bottom of the candy cane with the vase, then press candy cane for a few seconds to ensure the hot glue dries.
I found it easiest to glue on about half of the candy canes with the vase laying on it’s side. Then I placed it upright to finish the rest.
Tie the ribbon, make a bow and snip the ends!
Fill the vase with water and cut the flowers to desired height. (I cut mine at 7-8 inches long.) Place the flowers in the vase and voilà!
It really is that simple! I’d love to hear if you make this and how it turned out! Because I really like how this turned out, I’m thinking of ways to incorporate this concept for other holidays. Let me know if you have any ideas!
